As the great style icon, Rachel Zoe would say, "I DIE"!!!. Our styled wedding shoot got picked up by Shop Rachel Zoe and was published on Valentine's Day!!!!!!!
As you may know, in November of this year, my husband and I picked up our businesses and moved to Bend, OR from Sonoma, CA. Since the move, I have been busy creating a styled wedding shoot. In the wedding industry, it has become common practice to create a mock wedding and collaborate with other vendors in order to network and get your brand out there..
I was referred by a local wedding event company here in Bend, called ae creative to a photographer who had also just moved to town name BrittRene Photography. I got in touch with Britt and she quickly came on board. as It turns out, we live one block from each other and both just moved here from the bay area, Small world!
We bagan plotting and planning our shoot with the help of her friend, BuzzWorthy Events. It began with a mood board and took shape from there. We first decided on our color palate which were soft hues of rose gold, slate and white. We knew with the epic winter we were having in Bend, we wanted to shoot in the snow, under the trees. after deciding on our location and date, it was time to assemble the rest of the team
Bend has proven to be one of the most welcoming small towns I have ever stumbled across. the People I have met here in the wedding industry have been more than helpful and kind. We were lucky enough to recruit Nickol Cady from Foxtail Bakeshop to create our stunning cake, Casey from My Fair Letters for the stationary, Platypus perspective for the cozy shalls and pillows and finally, our gorgeous real life couple, Chandler Husband & Meekoh. Our team was complete and the next few months would be dedicated to making this vision come to life.
With a couple months of snow in bend, we were praying that it would all stick for our shoot date in early February. as the days drew nearer, The forecast called for freezing rain....but the wedding gods were on our side because we got a lite dusting of snow the day before the shoot. our location was perfectly frosted with white snow and made for the perfect winter wonderland wedding! With our husbands in tow, we hauled all the equipment, props and flowers through the snow to our site.
despite the day of on and off again rain, friends and family came out to participate in the shoot (and drink some wine) :) I was so overwhelmed by the support the community and some of the best talents in the biz showed us that day. I could not have asked for a better welcome to bend than this!
Shop rachel zoe was kind enough to let us borrow some dresses from her new line for the bride and bridesmaids. The bride' wore the stunning Keegan Embellished Gown which was a flapper inspired dress with shiny pearls and crystals that hugged in all the right places. The bridesmaids wore the Cross Halter Jumpsuit in midnight blue. This comfy modern number sparkled perfectly against the white snow. We wanted to keep the attire modern and sleek and these Rachel Zoe dresses were magic!
I have followed rachel zoe's career from the beginning, she is my style idol! So, needless to say, having our shoot even mentioned in the same sentence as the great rz was an honor! Check out some of the photos in my portfolio.
